Proprietary Composites
Composite have been replacing metal in a wide range of industries including automobiles, energy production, security, aerospace, etc. Air2o initially explored plastics as a base material and, like many other key industries, has developed a proprietary composite as the base material for its grilles, registers and diffusers. By comparison, producing one (1) ton of low density polyethylene pellets requires just 17% of the total energy necessary to produce a one (1) ton of aluminum while generating 88% fewer greenhouse gases.
The energy necessary to recycle polymers is actually only 10% of its initial production input or 90% more efficient than the recycling energy attributable to powder coated aluminum. Because of the disparity in weight, our proprietary composite products have lower transportation costs and reduced environmental impacts attributable to the burned fossil fuels related to product shipping.
